We are based out of Victoria, B.C., Canada, on Vancouver Island. We sit as a gateway to the North Eastern Pacific Ocean.

Unfathomable Media is a passion project created by Lawrence Anderson. It is a podcast series about people who make their living, find their purpose, and spend their lives in and around the water.

Our first season dives into the commercial fishing industry, exploring the characters, stories, and realities within the seafood supply chain. We want to shine a light on the people behind the seafood on your plate, and give you an authentic look at life in and around the water. Expect fascinating people with some wacky and wild stories!

Coastal communities have generations of knowledge and stories that risk being lost. Through modern day storytelling, Unfathomable Media shares the stories that deserve to be heard and preserved.

About Me

Lawrence Anderson

Cut to the chase! I have been involved in the commercial fishing industry for over 34 years, with 31 of those years spent actively on the water. Three years ago I was diagnosed with health complications that changed the course of my life. Due to government policies, my time on the water was brought to an unexpected end.

Before leaving commercial fishing, I worked in seafood harvest diving. I became deeply involved in representing our dive fisheries associations through marketing at International seafood shows. Today, I am continuing that work in International marketing, and expanding my focus to add on an outreach program for domestic marketing.

I have traveled to many different countries which has exposed me to a range of cultures and given me a global perspective on current issues and topics. I am fortunate to have been born in Canada with access to many amazing opportunities that otherwise might not have been accessible.

Working in this industry has taken me places I never expected to go, introduced me to incredible people, and shaped much of who I am today. Losing my life on the water has been one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced, but it has also opened the door to a new journey. I will fill you in more on my life, my journeys, and my struggles along the way.
